I'm a little above minimum specs but still getting slow down

My Specs:

Win XP SP3 32-bit
1 Gig RAM
GeForce 7300 GT (AGP) 512 MB
AMD Atholon XP 2400+ Single Core (SSE Only)

My old motherboard doesn't handle Bink compressed videos very well - Stuttering and skipping during FMVs in games like Mini Ninjas and Borderlands.

I'm experiencing excessive slow downs during screen changes (ie; Checking the News in the Campaign opening menu).
I was wondering if I should uninstall and put this game aside until next year when I have a new PC or if my specs are good enough
to run this game without the above-mentioned problem and maybe there's something that I should try adjusting?

Are this slowdowns only in the videos , or you are experiencing slowdowns on the game too ?
In what resolution you are running the game ?

The tutorial ran ok.

The videos were sketchy (that's no problem however)

But when starting a new campaign you begin in sort of a selection screen for options like checking current News.

Moving around that options screen viewing different options would cause the game to hesitate and load longer than what would
seem natural considering requirements VS specs.

The lowest res I tried it in (If I remember) was 1024 x 768.

If the slowdowns are only in the videos and in the control room, I think you should play it, if the game also slows down then I think you should wait, at least that's what I would do.
